MINIM Barcelona exhibits a careful selection of the most iconic pieces that Rodolfo Dordoni has designed for Minotti. The exhibition was inaugurated by the designer himself, together with representatives of the Italian brand, at the event that took place in the showroom of Via Augusta 185 on February 18.

Two iconic armchairs are displayed in MINIM Barcelona's shop windows: Suitcase Line (1997) and Delaunay Quilt (1998). Both creations correspond to Dordoni's beginnings as a designer for Minotti. Suitcase is a cubic armchair that has been redesigned for the 2019 collection, respecting the concept and geometric rigor of the original piece in addition to the Pony Look covering - or pony-effect leather - available in existing colors and with new additions such as the corresponding natural ash color - the color of the sample displayed in the MINIM Barcelona window-. Still, this reinterpretation has been endowed with new details such as the Brandy varnished bands and the removal of the legs from the initial version. It is the same with the reinterpretation of the sober but elegant Delaunay armchair, which was presented in 2019 in new colors and also added details such as a quilt stitching on the seat, without losing the vintage spirit of the piece inspired by the 70s. This armchair shares the limelight with the West system in white, which is the most representative piece of the 2019 Minotti collection. Also designed by Dordoni, this system suggests strong visual impact solutions with unpublished corner proposals with leather backs.

In another show window we find a composition made up of the Aston armchairs and the Aston sofa, all of them integrated into a collection that also includes chairs, stools and footrests. All these retro-inspired pieces are characterized by their light volumes and meticulous construction. The enveloping back of the Aston sofa stands out, which is kept elevated from the ground by pressure-molded aluminum legs.

On the first floor of the MINIM Barcelona showroom we find several contemporary compositions that bring together several best sellers from the 2019 Minotti collection. The Lawrence system, characterized by a classic-modern spirit, allows various compositions to be made, both in the high arm as in the low arm. The Freeman system, exhibited in light gray color, has an elegant aesthetics and great comfort, and is characterized by its soft lines and its extra-soft cushions. At the end of the tour of the iconic creations of Rodolfo Dordoni, we discover the Catling Dining table surrounded by Aston Dining armchairs.
