Woodnotes. Barcelona and Madrid
Woodnotes is a Finnish company of design dedicated to the handmade manufacture of carpets, pillows and textile for the home. Founded in 1987 by the textile designer Ritva Puotila and her son Mikko Puotila, the original concept of the Woodnotes’ products was to combine the artistic creativity inspired in the wild nature of Findland with advanced technology to give shape to the Finnish basic raw materials: the wood and the paper.
Woodnotes is the first company in the world to use paper yarns in a contemporary way in functional textiles, and not as a substitute of other materials. Its products are known for its pure design and high quality, and for strongly reflect the spirit of the Finnish design: the simplicity, harmony and the functionality.
