MINIM Madrid hosts “Geometric Balance”, by Marta Aguirre Arbex
Marta Aguirre Arbex brings her exhibition "Geometric Balance" to MINIM. In this exhibition, the architect explores the simultaneity of space, light and time, through abstract compositions in the form of original collages.
Graduated from the Madrid School of Architecture in 1981, Marta Aguirre practiced the profession for years. Her current artistic creations project a clear influence of cubism and constructivism, thus connecting her work with architecture.
Aguirre has been exhibiting his pieces since 2003, both in individual and group exhibitions. It is worth noting his exhibitions at the Peironcely, Fortuny or Larra Gallery, all located in the capital Madrid.
In this exhibition, which opens at MINIM Madrid on April 27, Marta has created various compositions, based on pure lines and geometric shapes. She avoids ornament at all times and seeks simplicity, balance and functionality. In addition, she enters a new artistic field: sculpture.
Exploring this new format, Marta Aguirre presents her first sculptural pieces for the first time, which go perfectly with her collages and her characteristic abstract style. In this way, she achieves a total camouflage between pieces and the MINIM space.
The exhibition brings together more than 30 collages and 7 sculptures that can be visited at Paseo de la Castellana, 92 until May 27, 2023.
