Presentation of "Icons of the design" by Mariadiamantes

 

On Thursday, June 9th, MINIM hosted the presentation of "Design Icons". An exhibition that shows 14 mythical pieces of contemporary design illustrated by Mariadiamantes, the Barcelona artist author of the book "Barcelona Visual".

 

Among the pieces that can be seen in MINIM, there are icons as outstanding as the Chester by Renzo Frau (1912), the chair Zig-Zag by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld (1934), Butterfly Bonet, Kurchan & Ferrari-Hardoy (1938 ), The chair CH24 by Hans J. Wegner (1950) or the lamp Disa by José Antonio Coderch (1954). Ten of these illustrations have been created expressly for this exhibition; The other four, were part of the book "Barcelona Visual", which summarized iconographic images of the city of Barcelona.

 

The event, which was attended by a large number of professionals from the sector, designers from different disciplines, clients and friends, was framed within the Barcelona Design Week 2016 and counted on the collaboration of Brutus The Beer and Monólogo wines.

 

Due to the good reception that has had the exhibition, "Icons of the design" has been extended until the next 9 of July.
