Fusion of Catalan modernism and Danish design
Fusion of Catalan modernism and Danish design
Mixing, in the same space, the original modernist essence of a typical Eixample house with the sculptural beauty of the pieces of furniture by the Danish firm House of Finn Juhl, has been a magnificent challenge for MINIM's team.
Finn Juhl was an architect and industrial designer who, during the 40s coined the "Danish design" concept and introduced it in the U.S. Juhl became popular for creating unusual and expressive furniture inspired by modern art; sculptural pieces influenced by surrealism, in which organic shapes and soft lines prevailed, emerging from a precise woodworking technique.
Combining the House of Finn Juhl pieces (sofa Baker, armchair Pelican Chair, bookcase FJ Panel system, chair Reading, chairs 45, side table Eye), we find other great design icons such as the Berger and Méribel stools from Cassina, Capellini's rocking chairs and Molteni's side tables. The lamps from the firms DCW, Artemide, Classicon, and Flos complete this magnific hall.
